The Feud

THE FEUD

“Life is too short” you hear people say

Yet families and friends fall out every day

As time goes by and life moves on

You wonder how on Earth the whole thing began

With every argument there are always two sides

No matter how much you believe you were right

There is a relenting period that very often passes

Because you were too proud to ask for forgiveness

So the saga continues, blown out of proportion

You lead separate lives as you feel there’s no option

It is sad for those who have honestly tried

Only to have their efforts ignored and denied

But worse for those who just can’t be bothered

To put the past behind them and their best foot forward

Time is the best healer to resolve a fight

Love is the best medicine to make things all right

So if you’re in this predicament and have done your very best

Be patient, be strong and let time do the rest.

Best Foot Forward

BEST FOOT FORWARD

If your get up and go has got up and gone

Don’t dwell forever on whatever went on

Live for the moment, spend every minute

Enjoying your life and everything in it

Count every blessing for time will not wait

Until you’re feeling better – it might be too late

Get help if you need it, acknowledge your pain

It’s time to get back on your feet once again

Let your light shine, show your face to the world

You have every reason to smile and be proud

Dust yourself down, blow the cobwebs away

Put your best foot forward and embrace this new day.

Sorry

Sorry

I’m sorry for my part in the row

Which looking back seems silly now

A point was made, and yes, I heard

It minced between those hurtful words

I want to put things right again

My heart has never known such pain

Surely you are hurting too

Wondering what we both should do?

I love you and I want you back

We need to get together and chat

To clear the air, air our views

Heal the wounds and kiss the bruise

You know the place where I can be found

I anticipate that you will come round

As day turns to night and night renews

I hope it mends our broken fuse.

Lead or be Led

LEAD OR BE LED

How do you view your place in the world

Are you the director or are you controlled

Do you let things happen or steer the car

Are you happy to be the person you are?

Do you feel you have grown as each year goes by

Have you realised your dreams or watched them subside

Are you passionate about the things that you do

Does enthusiasm ooze from you?

When was the last time you set a goal

Then went in search of your pot of gold

How did it feel along the way

To strive for ambition day by day?

We are what we think, so think yourself great

Be the best person that you can create

What is the legacy you’d like to leave

What is the purpose that you must achieve?

We all have a choice to lead or be led

Dictated by what’s going on in our head

When we decide what we want from life

New doors will open, look for the signs

The people, the places, the tools are at hand

To carve the life that we demand

So chisel away at whatever it is

Life is a present, unwrap your gift.

Thanks to Life

THANKS TO LIFE

Thankyou life for all you give, though often I don’t see

All those daily miracles you put in front of me

So blinded am I in my ways, I walk with blinkers on

Take for granted many things, then the moment is gone

I dwell too much on problems. no time for gratitude

Consumed by negativity, I must seem really rude

Ignorant to the blessings that surround me every day

Only notice some things when you take them away

I must raise my awareness so I’m in tune with you

And learn to shift my focus, change my point of view

I’ll see the tiny details life breathes through many things

Observe from your perspective the wonder that you bring

I’ll learn to be less selfish, for life is valuable

Priceless are your many gifts, you are unconditional

Sorry that it took so long to appreciate your worth

And really notice everything you show me here on Earth.

Poems by Marcia – Don’t Be Sad

DON’T BE SAD

There’s a sadness in your heart

What are you going to do?

Are you going to sit and let

It cloak itself around you?

No-one likes the feeling

Of being low and down

Much better to be positive

Smile, my friend, don’t frown

Face up to your troubles

Look them in the eye

Although it might seem daunting

You really have to try

Remember how it feels to be happy

When you radiate warmth and love

Knowing you’re glowing feels fantastic

So shine and rise above

For only when you take some action

Can you change the way that you feel

Eradicate all that is negative

And notice how quickly you heal.

Poems by Marcia – The Many Facets of Love

THE MANY FACETS OF LOVE

Love is the reason that we are here

Its universal message so loud and clear

Fathomless and often so misunderstood

A mystery, through history, this thing we call love

Its facets and depths surround us each day

Always indifferent – never the same

What’s good for me is not good for you

We all have our tolerances and points of view

We can think love, feel love or choose not to know

Swap red blood for blue blood as cold as pure snow

But a person without love will wither and die

Like a flower without water starved of life

When on our death bed it is love we will want

Our friends and the family, not what’s in the bank

Love is in nature and places we visit

Not in possessions and everyday gimmicks

Love keeps on giving, it’s a powerful force

We’ve all felt its magnitude from some kind of source

A happier place is the world seen with love

For it conquers the negative and shows us the good.
