Poems by Marcia – Don’t Be Sad

There’s a sadness in your heart

What are you going to do?

Are you going to sit and let

It cloak itself around you?

No-one likes the feeling

Of being low and down

Much better to be positive

Smile, my friend, don’t frown

Face up to your troubles

Look them in the eye

Although it might seem daunting

You really have to try

Remember how it feels to be happy

When you radiate warmth and love

Knowing you’re glowing feels fantastic

So shine and rise above

For only when you take some action

Can you change the way that you feel

Eradicate all that is negative

And notice how quickly you heal.

Poems by Marcia – Opposites

Positive, negative, up or down

Life’s full of opposites

Then turns around

It mirrors our soul

Our innermost thoughts

Open your eyes

To the life you have brought

You may not believe

That you have created

All that’s before you

Good or ill-fated

You cannot deny

When you take a look

That you played a part

In your very own book

There’s always a choice

And no-one can say

Which is the right path

For us to take

We are all individuals

We are all unique

From the hair on our heads

To the shoes on our feet

Your choice and my choice

May not be the same

But life carries on

Throw the dice, play the game

Remember the wheel of life

Keeps on spinning

There’s always a flip-side

When you think you are winning.

Poems by Marcia – The Story of You

Life is a book to which we hold the key

It needn’t be such a mystery

We chose to write a page a day

As we go about things in our own way

No two books are ever the same

They are personal to us and will always remain

Unique in their content, fresh in their style

Full of events that made life worthwhile

So what is your story – how would it read?

Is it boring and sad or full of intrigue?

Do you live for the moment or let things pass by?

Are you happy with how you go about life?

At the end of your days when you look back

Will you be accomplished on your chosen path?

Or will you fall short and not make the grade

For the route that you took and decisions you made?

Never blame anyone else in your life

For the way it’s turned out, whether wrong or right

Live it on your terms, be true to yourself

A best-selling novel to grace the shelf.

Poems by Marcia – A Thought for the Day

Do you flow through life, or does life flow through you?

Do you know you control what happens to you?

Each path that you take, every thought that you make

Determines your life – it is yours to create

Two people could face the same situation

But their thoughts and actions would produce different outcomes

Which just goes to prove that how we think and feel

Affects our surroundings and how we perceive ‘real’

We are the directors of our own lives

Trusting our instinct to tell us what’s right

Be guided by self, believe in your dreams

Create your reality, turn thoughts into things.

Poems by Marcia – Talent

You want to change direction

But don’t know what to do

You don’t know how to bring about

A life that reflects you

You have your traits and abilities

So look within for clues

All these things you have to bring

But which table should you use?

Most of us have a talent

Or a gift to offer the world

But often fail to express ourselves

Whilst we work for someone else

Our work should be our pleasure

The bonus being our pay

Money grows where our heart goes

So follow your dreams always

But money is just one currency

What price do you put on yourself?

Personal happiness is priceless

And coupled with that; good health

To realise ambition move toward it

Take action, make progress each day

Be firm, direct and determined

And success will come your way.

Poems by Marcia – Whole Again

That rush of nerves – those butterflies!

I cannot hide my feelings

Wrapped up in thought, I’m mesmerised

You’ve really got me reeling

You hold my hand and I just melt

I want to punch the air!

So proud to have you by my side

So happy you are there

I hate it when we separate

I do not feel complete

The only thing that makes me whole

Is you, each time we meet

You’re more than just a soulmate

You’re my lover and my friend

We share a love eternal

That is never going to end

You make me feel so wonderful

And enhance all that I do

Your encouragement and compliments

Fill me with love for you

You lift me up when I am down

And wipe away my tears

You hold me close when I need

Some comfort from my fears

So forgive me when my stomach churns

It’s just anticipation

I carry all this love for you

It’s in my heart, just waiting

To see your face, share special times

To reflect on when we’re older

Thank you for the joy you bring

I really am bowled over!
